How to use Platform Deal Settings

Modified on Wed, 15 May at 3:56 PM

Overview

Platform deal settings enable you to enhance three aspects of your platform deals; details, communications and match score. This allows you to customise deal appearance and functionality.

Note - Please reach out to your account manager if you would like to activate this functionality. Additionally, if you're interested in learning more about this feature and how it could benefit your organisation's platform, your account manager can provide you with further information.

There is a separate article on how deal status works

This help article covers:

  • Deal Settings

  • Deal Details

  • Deal Communications

  • Deal Match Score

How to access the Deal Settings page

Click the My Deals button, which will take you to the Explore Deals screen.

How Deal Details work

Within Platform Deal Settings, the features under Deal Details enable Internal Users to select which information is visible to Deal creators when they add or view deals on the platform.

For example, an Internal User with access to Platform Deal Settings can refine the types of deals available by removing the option to list a deal under “Real Estate”. This ensures that the range of deals on the platform is tailored to your organisation's preferences.

Under Deal Details, adjustments can be made to the following:

  • Deal Structure

  • Asset Class

  • Fund Type

Any restrictions applied in the Deal Details section will be reflected in the deal filters within Browse deals. Users will only be able to filter by structures, asset classes, and fund types that have been enabled.

A pop-up will appear, allowing you to modify the detail options. Once you are happy with the changes, click the Save button.

This will apply the updated settings to the deal details.

How Deal Communications work

In the Deal Communications tab, you can enable:

  1. Due Diligence: This feature enables Investors to conduct due diligence on the deal before making investment decisions. It provides a formal platform for inquiries, similar to the Q&A functionality. Users have a dedicated area within the deal to manage their own due diligence requests as well as those submitted by others.

  2. Q&A: This feature allows Investors to submit questions regarding the deal. Investors can also attach relevant documentation. If enabled, these submissions can be found under the "Communications" tab within a deal.

  3. Meet Management: Allows Investors to arrange meetings with the individuals involved in the deal. It also acts as an in-platform calendar for Entrepreneurs to manage one-to-one meetings.

Meet Management also enables entrepreneurs to promote upcoming group meetings or events by creating mini pages. These pages can include event details, images, descriptions, and event sign-up links, providing a comprehensive platform for effective event organisation and promotion.

Note - All submitted Q&As from Investors and teams will be accessible within the "Communications" tab in Manage Deal. Meeting requests and enquiries submitted by Investors and teams will also be found here.

However, access for Entrepreneurs will only be available to Entrepreneurs themselves when the organisation setting "Allow Entrepreneurs full visibility of Investors" is selected.

How Deal Match Score works

Deal Match Score is a number calculated based on the Investor’s profile of how likely they will be interested in the deal.

Similarly to the Deal Communications tab, you have three options regarding deal match score:

  1. Enable Deal Match: This activates the ability to use the Deal Match functionality on your platform.

  2. Enable deal match upload and download: This option allows you to download a spreadsheet, fill it in, and upload it, providing information about specific Deals and Investors.

  3. Show deal match scores to Investors: Enabling this option allows Investors to see how the deal matches to them based on their previous matches with similar deals.

Select the Deal Match Data tab on the left side. This will take you to a new screen where you are able to download the bulk upload template.

Arrow pointing at the 'Bulk Upload Template' hyperlink.

Complete the bulk upload template by filling out all the columns with the required data.

Arrows pointing at the spreadsheet columns generated.

On this screen, you can adjust the percentage thresholds that determine a high, medium, or low Deal Match Score.

Arrows pointing in the file drop box and 'Upload' button.

Once the template is uploaded, the deal match scores will be displayed on the screen.

The final option available on the left-hand side menu is Deal Match Score Allocation
